Information collected
Depending on how you use the service, information may include your name or business name, email address, telephone number, collection and delivery addresses, service and item details, requested dates and times, booking status, account details, payment status, communications, complaints, consent records and technical information needed to operate and secure the website.
Card details are processed by the payment provider and are not intended to be stored by ITA Local Courier.
Why it is used
Personal information is used to respond to enquiries, take steps before entering a contract, provide and administer courier services, calculate routes and prices, process payment, communicate about a booking, prevent fraud or misuse, keep accounting and tax records, establish or defend legal claims, resolve complaints and comply with legal obligations. Depending on the purpose, the lawful basis may be contract, steps requested before a contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests or consent.
Who receives it
Information may be processed by service providers that are necessary to run the service, including Supabase for database and account services, Vercel for website hosting, Google Maps Platform for address and route functions, Stripe for payment processing when enabled, email or communications providers, professional advisers and insurers. Information may also be disclosed to public authorities where required by law. Only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose should be shared.
Google Maps
Google Maps features are treated as an optional external service on the public website. Where consent is required, the relevant Google Maps functionality should not be loaded until you choose to allow it. You can review or change cookie and external-service preferences from the site's cookie settings.
Retention
Booking, invoice, payment and accounting records are normally retained for the period required for UK tax records: at least five years after the 31 January Self Assessment submission deadline for the relevant tax year, and longer only where another legal obligation or an active dispute requires it.
Unsuccessful enquiries that do not lead to a booking are normally deleted or anonymised within 12 months of the last meaningful contact. Routine customer-service messages are normally retained for up to 24 months after the matter is closed. Complaint, incident and claim records are normally retained for up to six years after closure where this is reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Account information is kept while the account is active and is normally deleted or anonymised within 24 months after account closure or sustained inactivity, except for information that must be kept with booking, financial, complaint or legal records. Cookie and consent records are kept only for as long as needed to demonstrate and honour the user's current choices and are replaced when preferences are updated.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security and international transfers
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information. Some service providers may process information outside the UK; where this happens, legally recognised safeguards should be used where required.

This notice may be updated when the service, providers or legal requirements change. The current version published on this page applies from the date it is posted.
